First Entry

Johnnie-Come-Lately? Sure.
Johnnie-Come-With-Nothing-Intelligent-To-Say? Balls to that.

Blogging has become "the next big thing." Creative-types the world over are clamoring over one another (figuratively, not literally) to write their names in the sands of the internet.

"I was here."

Like so many children who've carved their names onto desks in public schools before us, all we want is to make our marks. We wish for someone to read our scrawls and take something from them. However small their gain, it is the gain that matters. If I can bestow some small amount of pleasure on you, some fleeting thought about me, then I have gained immortality of a kind.

It's remarkable that it's taken this long.

I have long considered myself a guy who writes. Not a writer, because then I would have to adopt all the quirks and conundrums that accompany that moniker. I also get to side-step the anxiety caused over writer's block. No performance-anxiety for me, thank you.

Since I do consider myself a guy who writes, though, it was only a matter of time before I tried my hand at blogging. So far, in the past ten minutes (not counting the first draft of this that was accidentally deleted ), It's been a barrel of monkeys. Although I must think of something else to write about, because the business of writing about the business of starting a blog is quickly losing its luster.

Blog away strange.

And Welcome to Any and All Most Esteemed Readers.
